The Edges of the World is the debut album by COMPOSER, an unexpected experimental pop duo formed by Guillaume Eluerd, a singer-songwriter, and Fraction, electronic composer and sound artist. The two met during InFiné’s creative summer workshops at Le Normandoux (France), where their distinct musical languages quickly converged into a shared sonic vision.
Released on InFhttps://infine-music.cominé in 2016, the LP merges analog warmth, playful songwriting, and refined electronic textures. Across nine eclectic tracks, the album explores a hybrid form of pop—fragile, strange, humorous, and cinematic.
Featuring the radio hit “Check Chuck” and the haunting “Polar Bear”, the album was praised by press and listeners alike for its bold sound design, lyrical tension, and genre-defying production.
“An unexpectedly strong debut that won’t stay under the radar for long.” — Intro (Germany)
The album was released in both vinyl and CD/digital formats, and distributed through Bandcamp and international platforms. Tracks like Aqualung, Biome, and Rooftop reflect COMPOSER’s instinct for juxtaposition—balancing precision and play, digital and acoustic, structure and abstraction.
With The Edges of the World, Fraction explored a more pop-oriented but still deeply textural and experimental direction, complementing Eluard’s melodic phrasing and lyrical introspection. The project remains a unique chapter in both artists’ discographies, embodying a spirit of collaboration and stylistic risk.
