Research Residency – SAT, Montreal (2014)
In 2014, I was invited by the Institut français to undertake a three-month research residency at the Société des Arts Technologiques (SAT) in Montreal. Having previously presented Dromos and Obe at the SAT, this context offered a fertile ground to push further my exploration of spatial sound as a compositional and performative medium.
The residency focused on the development of a real-time sound spatialization tool, conceived not as a neutral technical solution, but as a generative environment for composition and performance. The tool itself became the starting point for imagining a new piece, emerging from experimentation with space, gesture, and sound projection.
The research unfolded between the Cormier Studio (CALQ) and the SAT Mini-Dome, where I tested the audio engine and interaction interfaces in immersive conditions. Occasional access to the SAT Dome allowed me to prepare a public performance and talk presenting the outcomes of the residency.

This process eventually led to the creation of Entropia, developed in close collaboration with Louis-Philippe St-Arnault, whose artistic and technical contribution played a decisive role in shaping the final form of the work.
