In September 2022, with the support of the Institut Français, I had the privilege of being a guest composer and artist at the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies (CNMAT) at the University of California, Berkeley. CNMAT is one of the world’s leading centers for research and innovation in computer music, spatial sound, and digital performance, known for its pioneering work in sound synthesis, real-time processing, and human-computer interaction.

During my time at CNMAT, I had the chance to meet Edmund Campion, composer and CNMAT director, and to share my work through a talk, masterclass, and live performance on the 16-channel sound PA in the main room. This immersive setup allowed me to explore the full potential of spatial sound in a cutting-edge academic context.

For more information, you can read the official CNMAT announcement here: Eric Raynaud – Guest Artist and Researcher.

While in San Francisco, i performed Ritual for a dying planet at Gray Area for Distant Early Warning Festival
